The worksheet applies the selected stiffness model to crush measurements across the damaged width. The method, coefficients, measurement convention, and any restitution adjustment must match the evidence and vehicle.

Inputs to verify

  • Residual crush measurements at documented stations.
  • Original profile, direct-damage width, and measurement spacing.
  • Appropriate A and B stiffness coefficients or supported equivalents.
  • Overlap, induced damage, end shifts, and areas not represented by the model.

Crush energy represents modeled deformation work. It is not automatically the total collision energy or either vehicle's pre-impact kinetic energy.
